Drought Relief for southern Queensland

Next >

Our Club has made drought relief for southern Queensland our primary community service target for our 2018-19 year. All money raised goes directly to rural communities.

The Rotary District 9630 Drought Relief Program uses a whole of community approach. The aid is delivered through three prongs: a voucher system; family days; and a reading assistance program for children.

The vouchers are given to carefully selected needy recipients and then spent, on average five times in the local community, giving whole of community benefits.

Our club donated $10,000 on 23 November at our recent 65th anniversary celebration.

The January and February rains did NOT reach these parts of southern Queensland West of the Great Dividing Range!
